English Language Learning (ELL) Programs

Improve your English skills with courses offered in our English Language Programs.

 

 

Weekday English classes meet twice a week for 8 weeks
Mondays & Wednesdays -OR- Tuesdays & Thursdays
9:30am – 11:30am, or
6:30pm – 8:30pm 

 

Saturday English classes meet once a week for 7 weeks
9:30am - 12:00pm

 

 

Levels

Basic English, English Level 1, English Level 2, English Level 3, English Level 4, English Writing, & Advanced English

 

 

Tuition for Weekday English Classes - (1 session is 16 classes)

English Basic – English Level 4 / $70 per session

Advanced English Classes / $70 per session

 

 

Tuition for Saturday English Classes - (1 session is 7 classes)

English Basic – English Level 4 / $45 per session

Advanced English Classes / $60 per session

 

 

Books

Computer Literacy Classes

Our Computer Literacy classes are taught in Spanish and teach adults to understand and use skills in word processing, Internet and E-mail for personal and employment purposes. 

 

 

 

Weekday Computer classes meet twice a week for 8 weeks

Quicken Classes

Quicken is a personal financial management software program. In this class students will learn to organize finances.

 

Computer Graphics Classes

In this class students will learn strategies for manipulating images, and how to take advantage of advanced software features such as layers, paths, and transparencies. Special focus will be given to optimizing photography results. This class does not expect any prior knowledge of computer graphics.

 

 

Citizenship Classes

Through a partnership with the Jewish Family and Career Services, we offer citizenship classes that teach adults the content and interview skills needed in English to successfully pass the citizenship exam. Adult ELL Teacher Training Workshops 

 

The LAA offers ELL Teacher Trainings to new and experienced teachers who want to teach adult immigrants. Topics covered include grammar, reading and writing, pictures and visual aids, managing a multi-level class, and developing materials. Classes are free and participants must register beforehand.
