Hispanic Corporate Leadership Forum (HCLF)

The Latin American Association in partnership with Corporate Affinity Leaders will continue to embrace the Latino Community in an effort to support the initiatives of volunteerism, education, social and economic advancement; we will together achieve a spirit of community and collaboration towards the betterment of all.

 

HCLF brings together Hispanic corporate affinity groups or resource groups that are, or would like to be, involved with the Latino community. The initiative was implemented by the LAA’s volunteer committee to discuss solutions for the needs faced by the Hispanic community.

 

Previous topics have included education, immigration, the role of consulates in the community, and the LAA’s family services and DFCS partnership. Participating companies have included: Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., Delta Air Lines, State Farm,
The Coca-Cola Company, UPS, Georgia Tech, Georgia Power, and others.

         

2012 HCLF Meetings
 HCLF meets from 8  to 10 a.m. on the 2nd Thursday of every other month.
 
        Networking & Breakfast: 8 - 8:30 a.m.
        Topic Discussion: 8:30 to 10:00 a.m.

 

Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012 - "The True Impact of HB87 on the Latino Community"

Join us for a town Hall with Latin American Consulates do discuss how HB87 has impacted their respecitve communities. Also featuring special guest and introduction of Jeffrey Tapia, the LAA's new executive director.

 

Thursday, March 8, 2012 - Best Practices for Affinity Groups

Learn how you can best levarage your corporate affinity group to make a difference in your company and community at large. Discussion will cover how to implement and develop an affinity group. 

 

Thursday, May 10, 2012 - Corporate Supplier Diversity & Latino Businesses

Explore how affinity group leaders can serve as liasons for growing Latino businesses with regards to supplier diversity

 

Thursday, July 12, 2012 - "The Power of Community Engagement"

Discussion on how one's involvement in volunteerism and community outreach can reap great individual, corporate and societal benefits.

 

Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 - "Education for Latino Youth"


Engaging topic on how we can best help young Latinos recieve and education. Discussion of local statistics on the Latino drop-out rate, how you as an individual can become fully engaged, and what resources are available for students.

 

Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 - "Latino Talent & the Workforce"

Discussion on how businesses can attract and retain Latino talent through training and development, cultural sensitivity, and diveristy and inclusion.
